Senior Strategist and Planner, Street Smart Strategic Planning
Jimm Holland is a senior strategist and planner at Street Smart Strategic Planning in Calgary. With an extensive background in marketing, retail management, e-commerce operations and channel integration, he is known as an innovative and pragmatic strategist, marketer and brand builder. In his current role, he is focused on the evolving consumer mindset and the impact of demographic shifts on the role of traditional marketing strategies in a world of digital assets, brand activation, customer experience and community engagement.
He spent the last 13 years client side – mostly in retail. During that time, he had executive responsibility for the growth and development of heritage brand portfolios in the agriculture, petroleum and outdoor adventure industries. As VP Marketing and Digital Strategy for one of Canada’s largest retailers dedicated to hunting, fishing and camping, he was responsible for corporate strategy, business planning, marketing, brand and customer experience and channel integration, as well as ecommerce strategy and operations.
Early in his career, he honed his skills at several of western Canada's top advertising and marketing communications agencies where he gained extensive practical experience in brand development, strategy, portfolio management and other methods for establishing, enhancing and protecting the value of brand assets.
In 2015 he received his MBA (Finance) from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.
From this combination of roles and experience has emerged an expertise for helping organizations bridge the gap between what they want to do, what they realistically can do and what customers actually expect them to do.
